As you can see, we have been very busy. thee are a ton of of pics that I just didn't post. I am now dating someone and am happier than I have ever been. I am dating Dale, my hair guy. We have known each other for 6 years and are best friends. Neither one of us ever saw this coming and it has been great!! I truly believe that God aligned everything for us to find each other. We know everything about each other and there are no secrets whatsoever. The kids get along great (as great as siblings do). My girls absolutely love Dale and Koalby loves me. You know how I am with boys and Koalby is totally stealing my heart. I could never see myself as a boy mom and I am quickly becoming one. I feel bad for the little guy as his mom isn't a big part of his life. It is pretty neat that I can take that role in his life and be the role model he needs. Dale is the same way with my girls. He has been more of a Dad to him than Greg has ever been or probably ever will be. This whole relationship and family is just amazing. Again, I truly believe that this is a relationship that God has had in the making for years. He really knew what He was doing here. I can not wait to be able to bring Dale and Koalby home for everyone to meet.

So we had our storm last night. We didn't get THAT much snow, but the storm was classified as a blizzard, mostly due to the wicked wind that was blowing. We ended up closing all the schools that I work with today. Two of our main locations up North were open, if you were brave enough to make the drive. Just a few hours later, roads are clear and people are driving around town. (Or at least as far as I can see, we aren't going anywhere!) The girls had lots of fun playing in the snow, especially since we haven't had much this year. It is strange looking at some of the pictures. If you notice, there are some spots that are grassy and clear and just a few feet up from there, there are 2-3 foot drifts. Have to love Colorado weather. Blizzard yesterday (last night) and absolutely beautiful today.

Bailey had her birthday party today. She chose to have it at Skate City! She had so much fun with her friends and has a new pair of skates to show off. She is loving the skates because they have pink wheels! What more could a little girl ask for? I have decided that birthday parties outside of the house are the way to go! I ended up spending just a little bit more than I would have if I had the party at home and there was no mess for me to worry about!! So much less stressful, too!! All that matters in the end is that Bailey had a fun time at her party! I can't believe she is 7 years old!!!!

I went to register Alexis for school yesterday and found out that the high school she was supposed to go to won't accept her because of her grades from her previous high school. This was a bit upsetting to Alexis. She will be attending the alternative school here in this district for the rest of the school year. This will allow her to make up all the credits that she is lacking from last semester (and no laptop)! I think it will be a very good thing for her. I, of course, am a little worried about the influences that may be involved by attending an alternative school. I think (hope) that she will be okay. I don't think she will be follow those that use drugs and all the other bad stuff that can go on. If she does well here, she will be allowed to join the "normal" high school for her sophomore year. Only time will tell what will happen there. I think she may find out that if she can stay out of trouble, the alternative school might not be such a bad thing. She should be able to actually graduate high school a little bit earlier if she stays at the alternative school. Please keep her in your prayers as I know you guys always do. I am sure that she will be fine and will do well.... Talk to you all soon!! Love you!

This was taken just before one of the girls that works for me and I were getting ready to go out for her birthday.

So, I had very few tools to use when I moved into my apartment. I just couldn't turn down the cute pink tool set. I just had to have it!!

I'm really thinking this child needs help!!! lol

We are finally pretty much settled into our new apartment. We are very happy and loving it. The hardest thing to get used to is not having a washer and dryer at my disposal. The laundromat is just right at the end of my building, but it is an adjustment. I love doing laundry SO much, too, so that doesn't help at all!! lol

Bailey is still continuing to do well in school. Her behavior, no big surprise, is a challenge for her at times. The biggest problem that she is has is staying quiet. I wonder where she gets that from?? Must be her younger cousins, Jessie and Jodi. Couldn't be her Mom or big sister!!

Lex is doing well, too. I somehow managed to lose her birth certificate between my moving this summer so she hasn't started school down here yet. I should have it within the next day or so. She will be going to school at Fountain/Fort Carson High School. She is really looking forward to getting started. The school district that she wil be going to issues laptops to all their students. She is excited about that! I don't think she realizes quite yet that she can't use it to web surf or play on Myspace!! lol

Anyway, that is pretty much the latest update on us. I have attached some pics of the girls that we have taken over the last month! I love and miss you guys bunches!!

As you can see, Bailey had lots of heart when it came to cheering for Auburn on Saturday. She didn't watch the whole game (it was almost unbearable, anyway). It was funny thought because even after the massacre, Bailey was running around the house cheering, "Let's go Auburn, Let's go." She was so stinking cute doing this. She kept asking me through the night to video her. She isn't camera shy at all!!

Prayer Request

Please keep the Lehman family in your prayers. Wade Lehman, 19, was killed in a car accident here in Colorado Springs today. Both him and his mother, Lori, work for Junior Academy. He was an awesome young man with a very bright future ahead of him. I can not even begin to imagine what this family is going through! Parents should never have to say good bye in this way to their children. It just is not fair!! Let's surround this family with prayers to help them through this most horrific time in their lives.Thank you so much!!

The girls had a blast trick or treating this year. We went to the Chapel Hills Mall here in town. Bailey thought it was funny because there were a few kids that were actually scared of her. She just kept saying, "I'm just a black cat!" I thought it was great. I have already told Lex that she is just about done in the trick or treating area. She is going to have to start putting together her own costumes is she wants to dress up. I think she is getting a little old for that kind of thing now. Actually, it may be worth it for me to let her dress up and then make her take Bailey out! I can then stay home and hand out candy! "Grandma", Dale's mom, had that job last night. I hope everything is going well for you guys! Love and miss you all bunches!!!

One Big Happy Pumpkin Family!

We all took a trip to the Happy Apple Farm today. The farm is about 40 miles from the house. Yes, I know I could have just gone down the street to Walmart and picked pumpkins, but that wouldn't have been near as much fun as this! We rode a tractor to the field and then picked our own pumpkins. We really enjoyed the day. It was a beautiful day! Especially for it to be this close to Halloween! We should have been in winter coats for the trip. We came home and carved the pumpkins so they are ready to go for Friday night. I am pretty impressed with how they turned out! Lex worked very very hard on hers! I, of course, did Bailey's because there is no way she would have been able to carve her own!! As you can see, the day was a ton of fun! I am super tired, but the day was well worth it!! We made memories today that will last a lifetime!

Bailey did a cheer camp at Alexis' school last weekend. As part of the camp, they cheered at tonight's football game. Bailey really seemed to enjoy herself! Everytime she saw me taking a picture of her she got mad and growled at me. It was quite funny. She said that I was embarassing her by taking her picture. I couldn't believe her of all kids thought that! She is a total camera hog!! She ahd fun and I guess that is what matters!

Digging for worms. The problem was that the temp dropped pretty low overnight. When that happens the worms dig down deep in the dirt to stay warm. The kids had a very hard time finding worms.
Shucking pinto beans. Bailey really enjoyed this. I thought it was funny that this of all things impressed her.

Feeling the compost. I couldn't believe that the kids even touched this stuff!! The man even told them that it had horse poop in it!! As you can see, Bailey dug right in like there was no tomorrow!! Just before this picture they were allowed to stick their hands in a hole in the ground to see if the compost was warm. Of course, it was because it is supposed to be. (Even though we were freezing our bums off). I'm sorry, but if I see a pile of trash with horse poo in it being made into compost, I am not sticking my hand anywhere near it!!! Bailey was the first one to feel it!!

As you can see by the way we were dressed, it was pretty cold out. I think it was in the 30's while we were at the farm. The wind chill was in the upper 20's. At times, we even got hit with a little bit of snow and ice!! The snow and ice weren't too bad at all. I don't think the kids even noticed!! They were having way too much fun!!

So if you read the next post first, you will totally understand this one!!! I decided to give the pics one more shot and it finally worked!!

Bailey's class trip to the Pumpkin Farm

There is a farm here in town that gives pumpkins away to the kids in Bailey's school district. There is even an elementary school named after the original owner of the farm. He started giving the pumpkins out because kids in town would see his truck full of pumpkins and want one. He decided he would invite the kids to the farm so that they could pick their won pumpkin!! This has been a tradition that has gone on for many years. They have different areas set up throughout the farm for the kids to look at. They were able to shuck bean, dig for worms, pet a pig, play with compost, and of course pick a pumpkin from the field. The only rule for the farm is that the KIDS must carry their own pumpkin out of the farm. Mind you this is quite a hike! (Probably like walking to Aunt Lou's through the woods and back to Mom and Dad's.) Bailey's pumpkin weighed about 9 1/2 pounds. It was the second largest in the whole class. There were a couple times that she had to stop and rest, but she made it. I have never seen a child so happy to take her seat on a school bus!! She is very proud of the pumpkin and is now watching t.v. and holding the pumpkin. I am hoping that she falls asleep with it because I just think that pic would just be too cute. I have some more photos that I wanted to add to this, but the photos are having a hard time uploading. I am now giving up and will try again later!

Lex's 1st Homecoming

Picture before getting ready. The theme for the dance was Masquerade. Lex and Nikki got ready at a friend's house and had dinner there. I didn't even get to see her until after the dance!!

Overall, Lex had a really good time. I didn't get any good pictures of her from the night because of her getting ready at the friend's house. I was kind of sad about that, but also realize that she is growing up so fast. Of course, today is her 15th birthday and that to me is just crazy!! Time has really flown by. She is a freshman in high school and really likes the boys!! I am sure that is not a big surprise though. It is very age appropriate. She really is turning into a beautiful young lady. Of course she has her moments, but don't we all?? Every day things are getting better and better. We are having her birthday party this weekend. It is just going to be a cook out with our Colorado family. I will get some pictures posted of that hopefully on Sunday! Hope everyone is doing well. I miss and love you guys bunches and bunches!!

Balloon Festival Labor Day Weekend 2008

We went to the Ballon Classic again this year. This is an event that is held every Labor Day Weekend. They let the balloons off on Sat., Sun., and Mon. mornings of Labor Day weekend. On Saturday and Sunday nights, they tether the balloons the to ground and "glo" them. It is so neat. We get up at about 5 in the morning and go see them let off, come home eat, and take a nap. We hang out during the day and will go back this evening. I am hoping that the weather holds out and is as beautiful as it was this morning. I will put those pics up weather permitting tonight or tomorrow morning. Dale and I might go back in the morning to get more pics. I want to get closer to the nearby lake that is at the park to get more pics. It is really cool because the balloons "splash and dash" on the lake. The bring the baskets down and touch the wather on the lake for a second and then take off again. We will see how that goes in the morning though. If they are able to do all the events of the weekend, it will be the first time in several years that all the events have been totally completed. It seems like every year they have to cancel a lift off or a "glo". The girls absolutely love going to this and it is one of the few times a year I can get them out of bed super early and not hear any complaints about it. As you can see my girls love having their picture taken. At the last spot that we stopped to take pictures, the ones with the waterfall and creek, Bailey was climbing off the rock, lost her footing and fell straight in the creek! It was so funny. Of course, nobody could take a picture of the fall because once it happened we were laughing too hard to think of the picture. We were upset that we didn't have the video rolling!! That would have made a great picture!! Bailey also has a little rock collection from the trip today. Everytime we got out to take pictures or look around she had to find a rock to save. She is excited about taking her collection to show and tell at school. She was a little worried about the trip in the beginnig when she realized that where we were going were mountain lions and bears. Of course, Lex, Nikki, and I teased her about this for the first half of the trip!! It as great! One time her arm was hanging out the window when we were stopped, so as I was walking quietly up to the truck, I grabbed her arm and shook it. She screamed like you wouldn't believe!! It was great!! We then told her that there was a bus wreck in one of the tunnels and all the children on the bus died! This story has been told for many years, but we still don't know if it is true. We told her that if she looked at the walls of the tunnel she would see the claw marks of the children. Well, when we went through the tunnel, Nikki hit one of the panels in the truck and again, Bailey was scared to death. She was sure someone was trying to get in the truck. I am still not sure who she thought was trying to get in the truck!! I look back at the day and I can see my daddy doing the same type of thing to us as kids!! He would have so enjoyed that!! It is so fun having such a gullible kid!!!

Can you believe she is a freshman in high school???? Time has flown by so fast!! She seems to be really excited about the school year and she has just made the J.V. Cheerleading squad! I am not sure if I am happy about that or not. I am sure she will be fine! I just don't want it to be too much for it. She is goint to be forced to study to keep her grades up!! I have faith that she will succeed though!! She is a very smart kiddo when she wants to be!! Just think before you know it, Josh, Asher, Berkeley, and Lydia are all going to be this age!!

She is very excited about going to school, but isn't excited at all about reading!! She seems to hate that part dearly!! I am hoping that she will get over that with her Mrs. Redford, her teacher. I warned Mrs. Redford about the fact that Bailey thinks her cuteness will get her out of trouble. Mrs. Redford assured me that she would not buy into Bailey's puppy dog eyes. Bailey is joined in class with the other Bailey from kindergarten. To tell them apart, Mrs. Redford is going to call our beloved Bailey, Bailey Mae.
This is Selena and Bailey. Selena just started in day care with Bailey. Bailey was very excited to have Selena in day care with us since they went to kindergarten together.

I think by this point, Bailey was sick of me following her around the playground taking pictures of her!! She was very ready to get her day started!! We didn't realize how cool it was going to be this morning so she had to borrow a sweatshirt of Lex's that was in the car!! She was very proud to wear her sissy's sweatshirt to school!!
Bailey was so super tired when she was done with school today. She didn't want to read the book that she made today, or any book for that matter so I told her to move away from the table that we were sitting at. She went over to the carpet and crashed for almost 2 hours. This pic was taken when I made her get up so we could go home!! This poor baby will never want to have a first day of school again!! I took so many pictures of her!! I wish I could have taken more of Lex, but she probably would have died of embarassment if I had followed her around high school!!

The girls are doing great on their trip to Kentucky. They are spending time with Greg's family and loving the attention. He has already left to go back to Korea so they are with his sisters and mother. Keep your fingers crossed that it goes well with his mom. We tend to have problems with her. Dale and I go and pick them up next Saturday. I have missed them so much. I have been so busy with work and moving that I really haven't had much down time since they hav been gone. I am enjoying the pics you guys are posting of the kiddos! I miss seeing them so much. Hopefully one day I will live closer and will be able to see you all more often. I am hoping Lex brings lots of pics back so that I can post them for you guys. My guess is her camera will be full!! I love and miss you all! XOXOXO

A few pics of us at a carnival that was here in town. The pic of Bailey and Dale was Bailey's first ferris wheel ride. She absolutely loved it!! She thought it ws pretty neat that she could see so far when she was up in the sky. The only thing she didn't like about the carnival was the little haunted house that they had. Taking her through that was just a hoot!! She screamed the whole way. I know it is probably wrong to laugh at, but if you had seen her, you would have laughed too. We were getting ready to leave the carnival and had to walk by the ride to leave. She thought we were going to take her on it again so she ripped her wristband off so that she couldn't go back on it!! Okay, so maybe we were teasing her a little, but it was so funny!!

The girls are leaving on Friday to go see their Dad and family in Kentucky. I am getting them ready for that trip. I am also in the process of packing my house to move out of it. Life has been very crazy for me. Work is super busy, but i absolutely love it. I am having a blast and getting a killer tan for the first time in a really long time. I will do my best to get some pics posted really soon. The girls and I are very happy and doing great. I am sure you guys know that I have been dating a guy, Dale, for a few months now. He is one of the most wonderful men I have ever met in my life. He is so good to the girls and me. The girls absolutely love him. I am sure you guys know how critical Lex was of any guy that step foot near me!! He has a 16, 18, and 21 year old. All the kids get along great. Even the 16 year old, Nikki, and Lex do great together. Pretty amazing for teenage girls!! We are sitting back and waiting for their first big fight!!! I again promise to get some pics posted soon. Maybe this weekend, but no promises!! I love you guys and miss you all bunches!!!

She is turning into a beautiful young lady with a heart of gold. I am sure she will be very successful in high school and in life. Bailey is 6 and going into the first grade!! She has a crazy personality that everyone just loves. She reminds me a lot of her Papa Smith. I haven't decided if that is a good thing or a bad thing!! LOL I have been truly blessed with these two girls. They are any mom's dream come true!!
